Whenever I have to make a quick emergency trip to buy tampons, I like to get one other completely random thing to go through the checkout line with.
One of my last trips, it was tampons and cat litter.
Last night it was tampons and beer.
brai-nure [bray-noor] (n.) manure from my brain. as in, crap I see and think about and stuff.

Veggies = Disruption and Confusion
So I've been veg for over a week now and here's what I've learned so far.
Its only a pain in the ass for other people.
Eva, the lunch lady at Nature's Table, makes me the same lunch at least once a week. When I come in, she knows that it'll probably be a Shanghai Chicken Salad. Asking for that same salad with rice in the bottom instead of a pile of chicken disrupts her work flow. She'll get used to it just in time for the experiment to be over.
A wait staff trainee at Dexter's took my order for a Grilled Veggie sammich with smoked gouda. Then she asked me if I wanted a "Build Your Own" sammich. No, I want the Grilled Veggie sammich (its on the menu). She asks me if I want cucumbers. Sure - that sounds good. Lava mustard? - Yeah, that stuff's yummy.
She brings back a french bread roll with lava mustard, melted cheese, and cucumbers. JUST cucumbers. Where'd all the grilled veggies go?? It was the flatest, saddest looking sammich ever. I get yelled at for starting eat it, but it took 20 or 30 mins just for cucumbers and bread and I'm super hungry by that point. She comes back and apologizes and offers to bring out some sprouts and tomatoes to add to my cucumber sammich. That made it a little better, but only a little.
Really....who orders just cucumbers on bread?? On top of that, who serves a Grilled Veggie sammich without any grilled veggies??
The guys made us a kick ass dinner last night for Valentine's Day and Matt had Lewis marinate and grill up a portobella mushroom cap. It was the BEST mushroom I've ever put down my neck. Plus, it looked like meat.
1 out of 3.
So far I haven't really noticed any body changes or anything. I get full quicker but feel like I can eat more cuz its just veggies. Maybe a slight hypersensitivity to the smell of meat cooking. We shall see how week 2 goes.

Ode to Matt
Because of you I will always waggle my finger while searching for something I've lost.
Because of you I will have IBS.
Because of you I don't feel like I need to talk much.
Because of you the Fox Fanfare will play a little bit differently in my head whenever I hear it.
Because of you I find it amusing that we can explain the exact same thing in 2 completely different ways.
Because of you I stay in bed longer than I should cuz you're so fuzzy, warm, and comfy.
Because of you when I cook everything must be sprinkled so I can use sprinkle hands.
Because of you I know that I was taught to correctly spell the possessive form of words/names that already end in 's'.
Because of you I feel like I can conquer everything....including an entire bottle of jager.

Day 4 Meatless and other crap
So going veg is really no big deal. Here's what I've eaten since the meatless salad I've started out with:
Breakfast: usually a pbj sammich and milk. also had a tomato, egg, and cheese muffin.
Lunch: meatless salad, portabello shroom fajitas, black beans & veggies
Dinner: spinach dip, cheese sticks, couple of onion rings, BK Veggie Burger (which tasted better than a regular burger - what a pleasant surprise).
Today, so far I've only had my pbj. Not sure what to eat next but we have some ground turkey in the fridge that needs to be cooked up and fed to Matt. We have some frozen fries. And the makings for grilled cheese.
Playing around with cafe press but the images are blocky cuz they're just photos and I don't have photoshop or anything cool like that on the macbook, so I'm feeling limited. Limited sucks.
Trying to finish up a painting that was started 2 weeks ago. Not feeling very motivated. I just feel like being lazy and watching movies.

New Experiment??
This goes against my very nature, but I feel a vegetarian experiment coming on and wanted to see what sort of (if any) feedback I'd get before commencing.
I'm thinking of giving it a go - for a month atleast. Matt's done it before - a whole 6 months.
Meatless for a month.
There could be a good song in that.
And I'm feeling ok with it actually. I thought it might be more difficult. (she says one meal in. ate a vegetarian salad for dinner tonight....as a sample.)
licia can help me. When we were kids, my mom used to get so weirded out when licia came over for sleepovers cuz she'd get stumped for what to make for us for dinner so we'd always have fettucini alfredo. For some reason I also remember the taste of the canned fake chicken licia would have at her house.
I told Matt that we'd need to stock up on beans. heh. They're the musical fruit. He asked me if I'd atleast wait until after he was asleep before lettin'em rip. Atleast he'll have good blood pressure. DUTCH OVENS FOR HEALTH!!!
I will still eat eggs from time to time. And drink milk. Cuz, duh, what else do you have with a pbj??
mmmmmmmmpbj&milk.
I want to go to there.
